These paintings are about the historic buildings in Peninsular Malaysia. They have the characteristics of Malay Islamic architecture. We really hope that the authorities will preserve these buildings for our national heritage.

zaki's print: jambatan

April in 2004, 5 o'clock evening, Kampung Pulau Gajah, Sabak in Kelantan. I was there and saw the environment. I am telling about a fishing village, small houses but peaceful, children's smiles, green trees and colorful flowers, brothers and sisters worked hard. Beautiful. But, I was emphasizing one thing, that is, the footbridge pathway to their boat. It was built of wood. Simple and provisional. Maybe it does not a matter. Jambatan means "bridge". Another one click here. That is all.

This print is from oil painting which entitled Jambatan. The painting is 122cm x 91cm in size and completed in 2007. It has been sold to Mrs Elizabeth John.
